It is. <strong>With night shifts included!<\/strong> But while it can be exhausting at times, this intense period is also a powerful way to build a deep and instinctive bond between mother and baby.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Three Months In: Time for a Breather<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Good news: By the time babies are <strong>three months old<\/strong>, breastfeeding often becomes less time-consuming. They <strong>feed more efficiently<\/strong>, and studies suggest that each session now lasts an average of <strong>23 minutes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>With around <strong>six to seven feeds per day<\/strong>, that\u2019s still <strong>at least two and a half hours daily<\/strong>\u2014but on the plus side, it comes with some of the best cuddles ever. \u2764\ufe0f<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Dads Underestimate the Time Commitment \u2013 Who Would Have Thought?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Did you know that many fathers completely <strong>underestimate<\/strong> how much time breastfeeding takes?<\/p>\n<p>A survey found that while mothers spend <strong>an average of five hours a day<\/strong> nursing or expressing milk, <strong>fathers estimate this at just three hours<\/strong>. Perhaps that\u2019s because they\u2019re fast asleep while mum is doing the night shift!<\/p>\n<p>But dads, don\u2019t worry\u2014you\u2019re not off the hook.
